The Kinds that I use in Cloth Diapering

There are many kinds of cloth diapers such as flats, prefolds, fitteds, hybrid fitteds, All in One (AIO), All in Two (AI2), Pocket Diapers etc. but I will only talk about the kinds that I've used so far...

but before that let me start with the different kinds of inserts first
  1. Microfiber (mf) - comes in 3 layers or 4 layers of microfiber cloth. The most common, least absorbent and the fastest to dry after washing. Hardest to deodorize. Don't usually deform inside the shell.
  2. Bamboo Microfiber (bmf) - has 2 layers of bamboo and 2 layers of microfiber cloth. More absorbent than the microfiber insert, takes more time to dry, soft and sometimes folds or deforms inside the shell.
  3. Stay Dry Bamboo Microfiber - same as bamboo microfiber but has a micro suede top layer that makes its surface stay dry.
  4. Stay Dry Trifold Bamboo aka Trifold - has 2 layers of bamboo cloth and 1 layer of micro suede. Square in shape, big enough to fold it into three to make it thicker. It is faster to dry than bamboo microfiber but slower to dry than the microfiber. It also folds and deforms sometime.
  5. Stay Dry Charcoal Bamboo Microfiber aka Charcoal - has 2 layers of micro fleece charcoal bamboo cloth and 3 layers of microfiber. Stiff, does not deform, fold or crumple inside the shell. It's not really hard to dry this, it's just like the trifold. Don't usually leak because both sides are stay dry.
  6. Hemp - I'm not sure about how many layers this insert has but it is the most absorbent among all the other inserts that I've mentioned. It is stiff and really not soft. It is easier to dry than the blended inserts. I usually use this as a night time diaper booster.
There are many other kinds of inserts like the pure bamboo, hemp bifolds and trifolds, milton, eucalyptus, zorb etc. but I don't have them so I can't really say anything 'bout those kinds.

and now, the cloth diapering systems that I am using...

All in Two (AI2) - is composed of a cover and an insert or soaker.
Cover type shell plus a stay dry insert (This is a Baby Chic Cover)
A Cover is just a diaper shell made from PUL that has flaps inside at both ends. These flaps hold the insert in place. In using this kind of diaper, you need a stay dry insert that you can put inside the cover. You can reuse this cover for at least 3 times or as long as it is still good enough to use before you wash it again. You can just remove the soiled or wet insert, wipe the inside part of it and put a clean stay dry insert and ta-da! It is ready to use again.
This is the inside part of the cover
This is how you put the insert inside the cover

Pocket Diaper - It is just like the cover type shell but has a "built-in" or should I say "sewn-in" suede or fleece cloth in the inside part. To use this, you have to stuff the insert inside the pocket. When it is already soiled you have put the whole thing in the laundry. You can't reuse the pocket diaper shell. You have to put it the laundry after single use.
Pocket Diaper plus the Insert. (This is a Kawaii Pocket Diaper)

This is how we usually use the pocket diaper. We stuff the insert inside it.
sometimes I use the pocket diaper as a cover by putting a stay dry insert on top of it.
and oh!! the diaper shells come with different closures. I have the velcro type and snap closure. There is also an Aplix closure shell, but I don't have them.

left - velcro; right - snap closure
So that's all I have for now. Anyway, I will just add and update this post whenever I have to ;)
